ABOUT THE ROLE

The Security Manager is responsible for leading effective security operations for our busy 24-hour truck stop and travel center. This position requires demonstrated strong leadership and management abilities to ensure a safe and secure environment for our customers, employees, and property. This role involves developing and mentoring security staff, maintaining excellent working relationships with other managers, keeping accurate reports and records, and implementing efficient security systems and processes. This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of three years of experience in security management, law enforcement, or military with strong understanding of security principles and practices.
  • High-school diploma (or GED) required, Bachelor’s degree in security management, criminal justice, or related field preferred.
  • DPSST certified through the State of Oregon; secure and maintain Executive Manager level DPSST license within 30 days.
  • CPR/First Aid certification required, or able to complete within 60 days.
  • OLCC Card required, or able to obtain within 30 days.
  • Valid Oregon or Washington driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills to include training, mentoring, and coaching.
  • Proactive style with attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and relationship-building abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, reading, and listening. Strong command of English language is required.
  • Ability to handle verbal and physical confrontational situations while staying calm and professional.
  • Computer proficiency/aptitude in Microsoft Office programs to include Outlook and Word as well as security technology, surveillance monitoring systems, etc.
