We are seeking an experienced Robotics Controls Engineer to design, program, and optimize robotic and automated control systems in a manufacturing environment. This role will focus on developing control strategies, integrating robotics with production processes, and ensuring maximum efficiency, quality, and safety of automated systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in PLC programming, robotic programming, motion control, and troubleshooting complex automation equipment.
Design, program, and integrate robotic systems into new and existing manufacturing processes.
Develop and implement PLC, HMI, and motion control programs to support automation needs.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with robotics, controls, and automation equipment.
Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to optimize system performance.
Maintain and update electrical schematics, control diagrams, and documentation.
Configure and tune servo systems, sensors, and vision systems.
Conduct system testing, validation, and commissioning for new installations.
Train maintenance and production personnel on operation and troubleshooting of robotic systems.
Support continuous improvement projects to enhance automation efficiency and reliability.
Ensure compliance with all applicable safety and electrical codes.
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related field (or equivalent technical experience).
3+ years of experience in robotics and controls engineering in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar).
Experience with industrial robot programming (Fanuc, ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa, etc.).
Strong knowledge of control system design, servo systems, and industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, etc.).
Ability to read and create electrical schematics and control diagrams.
Strong troubleshooting skills and analytical problem-solving abilities.
Preferred:
Experience with machine vision systems and integration.
Familiarity with SCADA, MES, and data acquisition systems.
Knowledge of safety standards for robotics (ISO, RIA).
Previous experience in high-volume manufacturing environments.
Ability to stand, walk, and work around industrial equipment for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work in varied temperature environments.
