Job Title: Production Manager

Job Type: Full-Time Temporary Associate

Position Summary:

We are seeking a senior-level Production Manager with strong experience in print and digital production , digital asset management , and end-to-end production lifecycle ownership . This role requires an individual with exceptional communication skills and hands-on process development expertise, ideally in an educational publishing or content delivery environment. The successful candidate will consolidate responsibilities currently spread across several individuals and must be highly collaborative, detail-oriented, and adaptable.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Management (60%)

• Oversee full production lifecycle from manuscript to final delivery for AP Access materials, including Teacher & Student Resources and Outreach team content.
• Develop, manage, and maintain detailed production schedules.
• Perform quality control across all printed and digital materials to ensure accuracy and brand consistency.
• Address and resolve production issues and maintain escalation paths.
• Lead the permissions process for instructional material development.
• Manage digital asset delivery to the AP Professional Learning Platform.

Inventory Management (30%)

• Track and manage product inventory ensuring current versions and accurate product descriptions are available in the College Board store and other platforms.
• Work with Catalog Request team to create/update product SKUs and descriptions.
• Manage ordering and fulfillment processes for AP Summer Institutes (APSIs).
• Train and support APSI site coordinators on ordering systems and processes.
• Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., International, Consultant Management) to maintain version accuracy and timely delivery.

Vendor Management (10%)

• Build and manage relationships with print and production vendors to ensure timely and budget-conscious deliverables.
• Send finalized electronic files to vendors and serve as point of contact for file transmission and versioning.
• Document vendor and internal workflows, recommending and implementing automation where feasible.
• Collaborate with store support on escalations (shipping delays, quality issues, etc.).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Publishing, Production Management, or related field (required).
• Minimum of 7 years' experience managing print and digital production projects, ideally within educational or publishing sectors.
• Proven ability to manage end-to-end production and digital asset lifecycles.
• Strong project management and scheduling experience using tools such as MS Project, Excel, or Smartsheet.
• Hands-on experience with Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems.
• Experience managing physical and digital inventory systems.
• Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to independently handle competing priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.

Preferred Skills & Tools:

• Expertise in print production best practices and tools.
• Experience with metadata tagging, version control, and asset repositories.
