Position:

IT Consultant - System Administrator

Description:

The IT Consultant will manage the technology infrastructures for multiple clients across different industries, supporting and maintaining servers, desktops, firewalls, network equipment, software applications, backup systems, and more.
The consultant will provide outstanding service, managing multiple clients, projects, and deadlines, handling unexpected situations, and working both independently and collaboratively with the team.
Responsibilities include maintaining relationships with customers, managing expectations, communicating project statuses, understanding customers' business goals and recommending solutions, managing and planning complex technology projects, delegating tasks, running internal and external status meetings, deploying complex solutions, building network and server environments, managing and upgrading servers and desktops, and solving various technical problems.

Requirements:

IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, SMTP, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, AWS, Security Platforms, WAN, TCP, other firewalls, Active Directory, Group Policy, client OS, routing, switching, wireless, LAN administration.
Experience as a system administrator, IT manager, or IT consultant is required. Experience handling multiple customers at an IT consultancy or MSP is a plus.
Knowledge of business operating systems and applications including Windows, Windows Server, and Office is necessary.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Ability to work professionally with customer executives and employees, resolve problems, and communicate progress.
High autonomy and self-management required.
Physically able to move computer hardware.
Must reside in the Austin, TX area.
Preferred technical skills include Microsoft Exchange, VMware, Hyper-V, Remote Desktop Services, Windows Server, SQL Server, Fortinet.
Bachelor's degree or 2-3 years of IT management experience.
Minimum 1 year as a network administrator.
