Director of Membership and Events [6515]

Nonprofit organization working in the media industry seeks a temporary-to-permanent Director of Membership and Events to oversee membership programs by implementing recruitment and retention strategies.

Responsibilities:

• Manage membership outreach and engagement by creating new programs and initiatives.
• Facilitate recruitment of members through distributing marketing materials and developing marketing strategies.
• Manage the flow of information to members and partner organizations across multiple channels.
• Serve as the liaison to committee chairs and attend meetings with industry executives.
• Supervise junior members of the membership and events team.
• Oversee internal events and programs.
• Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Effectively manages and prioritizes tasks in a fast-paced working environment.
• Exemplary judgement and problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Professional and positive attitude.
• Ability to maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Previous experience developing marketing strategies in a membership environment.

Requirements:

• At least seven (7) years of experience in a membership position.
• Ability to work extended hours when needed.

Rate: $30 per hour while temping.

Salary: $130,000 per year once permanent.
