**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a friendly and professional Director of Events to lead the planning and execution of both live and virtual meetings and events. This role is crucial in driving our mission forward through meaningful engagement with key stakeholders, investors, and our global staff. You will be responsible for managing a variety of events, from large global gatherings to specialized meetings, ensuring that each event aligns with our mission and global impact strategy.
As the Director of Events, you will implement best practices, develop planning standards, and guide efforts to achieve measurable outcomes. You will also build and maintain relationships with key vendors and manage event budgets, ensuring that expenses are controlled and cash flow projections are accurate. Your leadership will be essential in executing successful events while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and sensitivity.

**Duties and Responsibilities:**
- Develop and implement long-term event strategies that align with our organizational goals, managing multiple large-scale events to support ministry objectives.
- Create and manage a strategic engagement calendar for events in collaboration with the SVP of Advancement, ensuring alignment with our goals.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing events team, fostering collaboration across departments such as marketing, advancement, and operations.
- Oversee event budgets, ensuring cost-effective execution while meeting financial targets.
- Build and manage relationships with external vendors, sponsors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless event delivery and strong partnerships.
- Manage event timelines, logistics, and operations, ensuring high-quality execution that meets compliance, safety, and legal requirements.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks, effectively managing crises and adapting to unforeseen challenges during live events.
- Analyze event performance metrics, including ROI and attendee satisfaction, to inform continuous improvement strategies.
- Communicate event strategies, updates, and outcomes effectively to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
- Ensure an outstanding guest experience throughout the event lifecycle, from registration to post-event follow-up.
- Oversee all event-related logistics, including honorariums, venue selection, meals, transportation, speaker management, and overall event flow.
- Participate in daily prayer and devotions.
- Manage signing authority of up to $7,500.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Proficiency in contract negotiation, event planning, project management, and vendor selection.
- Experience in virtual event planning and management.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage workflow under pressure.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams effectively.
- Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise discretion.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze situations effectively.
- Willingness to work extended hours as needed to achieve organizational goals.
**Education and Experience:**
- Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years of experience in event management with significant leadership experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with event management software and CRM systems.
- Event planning or project management certifications (e.g., CMP, CSEP, PMP) are preferred.
- Knowledge of fundraising for nonprofit organizations is highly preferred.
- Significant exposure to international cultures and organizations is strongly preferred.
**Physical Requirements:**
- This position is based in the continental United States; while remote work is possible, candidates in the Central Time Zone (CST) are preferred.
- Ability to work remotely with minimal supervision.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to travel locally, regionally, and globally, with up to 30% overnight travel required.
- A current US passport is required.

**Salary/Hours/Benefits:**
- Full-Time
- Salary range: $95,000 - $115,000 (based on qualifications/experience)
- Hours: 40+ hours per week
