Position Available: Operator Collins & Sons Excavating is seeking a motivated Operator to join our expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our continued success with a company that values integrity and professionalism.
Responsibilities: - Maintain and fuel equipment; notify supervisor of equipment repair needs.
- Accurately complete required documentation in a timely manner.
- Stay informed on equipment and product technology updates.
- Perform assigned tasks safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all policies and rules.
- Communicate professionally with customers and co-workers.
- Operate heavy equipment including excavators, skid steers, graders, and dozers.
- Assist with hand digging, pipe installation, and ground labor as needed.
- Follow all safety standards and practices.
- Perform mass excavation, fine grading, and underground utility installation (storm, sewer, water).
- Read project plans and shoot grades.
- Meet schedules set by the Foreman and Project Manager.
- Use Topcon GPS rover and tablet at a basic level.
Requirements: - Minimum of 5 years of heavy equipment operating experience in the construction field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Team-oriented and willing to perform multiple duties as needed.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and self-driven.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and have a driving record acceptable to company insurance standards, if applicable.
- Willing to work long hours and in varying conditions.
- Certifications and CDL are welcome.
