Complex Litigation Managing Associate Attorney

Locations: CA (Los Angeles, Orange County, Sacramento, San Francisco, Santa Monica, Silicon Valley) | Washington, D.C. | Chicago, IL | Boston, MA | New York, NY | Portland, OR | TX (Austin, Houston) | Seattle, WA | Wheeling, WV

Our client, a prestigious Amlaw 50 firm, is seeking a talented Managing Associate Attorney to join their cutting-edge Litigation Business team. Available in multiple locations, this role offers the opportunity to work on high-stakes commercial, product liability, mass tort, and energy-related disputes in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Candidate Profile:

  • JD from a top-tier law school with a strong academic record .

  • Active Bar Admission in the relevant jurisdiction (CA, DC, IL, MA, NY, OR, TX, WA, WV) .

  • 4–6 years of substantive litigation experience in complex commercial litigation , mass tort , product liability , and/or energy-related matters .

  • Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple aspects of case strategy and execution .

  • Experience handling depositions , drafting dispositive motions , and managing discovery .

  • Courtroom experience and a demonstrated interest in taking on increased responsibility .

  • A team-oriented, proactive, and entrepreneurial approach to litigation practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in a wide range of complex litigation matters across industries, including energy (renewable and conventional), tech, pharmaceuticals, and more.

  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and briefs, and develop litigation strategy.

  • Participate in all aspects of discovery, including depositions, interrogatories, and document review/production.

  • Manage client relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Make court appearances at hearings, participate in mediations, and support trial preparation and strategy.

  • Collaborate across offices with a national team of highly regarded litigators and contribute to mentorship and firm development efforts .
