Entering this domain positions you at the heart of IBM, where growth and innovation thrive. **Your role and responsibilities** -Architectural Leadership: Work collaboratively within a team responsible for shaping the architecture and technical trajectory of our software networking and edge computing portfolio. -Real-world Product Building: Leverage practical experience in building products to contribute valuable insights to the software engineering practices within the team. -Domain Expertise: Possess a deep understanding of software networking and edge computing, utilizing this knowledge to develop informed opinions that play a pivotal role in shaping product direction and strategy. -Collaboration and Adaptability: Collaborate seamlessly with diverse teams and contribute to other IBM product initiatives. A crucial aspect is the ability to extend expertise beyond your domain to promote a holistic understanding of interconnected domains. -Flexible Mindset: Demonstrate flexibility in mindset to navigate and resolve points of intersection with other system components. Adaptability is key to finding mutually beneficial solutions. -Effective Communication: Utilize strong communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts, fostering collaboration and understanding across interdisciplinary teams. **Required technical and professional expertise** '- Strong communication - Intellectual curiosity / continuous learner - Ability to influence - Strong organizational skills - Timely, execution for impact - Proven track record to win and compete - Change agent - Expert experience with two or more of the following o operating system administration skills (linux, windows, zOS) o TCP/IP network and LDAP administration skills o APM solutions on IBM Z platform o IBM CICS and/or IMS admin skills o Enterprise COBOL development skills e.g. read, write, modify, troubleshoot o Java development skills e.g. read, write, modify, troubleshoot - Proficient experience with two or more of the following: o OpenTelemetry (OTeL) o Ansible Automation Platform o programming languages common to automation e.g. REX, JCL, YAML o working with Large Language Models and RAG models o working with Conversational AI o working with VS Code **Preferred technical and professional experience** '- interoperating COBOL and Java within a zOS subsystem is a bonus IBM is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
