Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Part-Time Accounting Manager to support financial operations during a temporary staff leave. This position will play a key role in managing grants, vendor processing, expense approvals, and fiscal year-end close activities in a complex academic administrative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the unit leader and incumbent (May June) to understand current projects, including grant-related spending and end-of-year financial plans.
• Lead the fiscal year-end financial close process.
• Review and approve monthly staff credit card expenses, ensuring proper account coding.
• Support vendor onboarding and purchase order processing using Oracle.
• Prepare and submit the unit budget for the new fiscal year, if necessary.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of progressively responsible administrative experience.
• Prior experience working in academic institutions, particularly with grant funding.
• Proficiency in Oracle and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong understanding of general business and financial practices.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• High level of professionalism, discretion, and emotional intelligence.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a complex administrative environment.
• Comfortable handling multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Commitment to service excellence and collaborative work.
